First Christmas in our New Home

I wanted to share a few pictures of our home for those who have been asking!

Please note our dining room is no longer fire engine red. It's a lovely Bennington Grey (khaki with grey undertones) and matches the wheat drapes left in the room from the previous owners. Special shout-out to my Dad who painted the dining room.

Also shown, is our new dining table. John assembled it last week and we had our first guests, Amanda and Anson, over for dinner last night. It's quite possibly my favorite piece of furniture I've owned to date.

We really lucked into these gorgeous chairs below. John's aunt and uncle are in the process of moving/downsizing and gave them to us. Rosie's already claimed the one with the green pillow.

And we've put up our Christmas tree. It sits perfectly in the front window.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with great care. (The ledge is super-small.)

And John's already made several fires in our first ever fireplace!

Really loving the built-in media unit, except we are in need of a larger television.

Our little breakfast nook.

Come see the new digs for yourself anytime!

Baylor vs. Texas

Last weekend was Baylor's final home football game of the season and it was against Texas. John was so antsy, I dropped him off at the stadium at 9:30 AM.

The rest of us made our way there soon after to begin our final tailgate of the season.

After feeling like the paparazzi, I snuck this photo of RGIII coming in for the March of the Bears.

Family and friends prepared delicious tacos, dips, cookies and other snacks. It's quite the tailgating experience! I think we're up to three tents, a tv, plenty of chairs and wonderful food. So fun!

The king of the grill, John's uncle, Clint.

Members of the Phil Hardage clan drove up to hang and watch the game.

And of course we got to see Courtney and Rett too!

In front of a sold-out stadium on a rainy, cold Saturday in December, Baylor beat Texas.

Baylor ended the regular season 9-3 and 16th in the polls.  We'll be on the road at the end of the month to watch them take on Washington University in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. Sic 'em.

Baylor vs. Tech

Baylor played Tech last weekend at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. We took both of our families (and one set of grandparents!) to cheer on the Bears!

Ran into a few Baylor friends at halftime--Callie, Candice and Natalie!

Any my favorite Red Raider, Callie's husband, Evan.

Love that Baylor beat Teach and we're looking forward to the game this weekend in Waco against Texas!!

Thanksgiving at the Purley Gates

This past week we traveled all the way to the Purley Gates, a retreat in Purley, TX, to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Hardage families. It was the perfect location (main lodge with individual cabins to the side) to fit all 20+ members in attendance. We ate wonderful food, played games, spent time outside and got to know each other better. I loved every minute of it.

Outside the main lodge.

Hoping for another Thanksgiving out there again next year!

Catching Up

The first half of one of my favorite months of the year has flown by. We've been keeping plenty busy, but it's all good things so I can't complain.

First, how cute was our front porch for Halloween? Loved our decorations!

We started November with a trip down to Waco for Baylor Homecoming. It was wonderful getting to spend time with friends and family.

Sic' em.

The following week I helped a friend from church set a lovely table for PCBC's "A Woman's Touch Dinner." Y'all, the people went crazy with the decorations. They were so elaborate and each had a different theme.

Ladies from the Kibby Krowd

I headed down to San Antonio last weekend for some girl time with the Heights crew. I can't tell you how much I love getting to spend time with those girls (including Meg, Amanda and Court) and how awesome it is that we've only become closer over the last 14 years. We had a great time admiring Lindsey's new house, planning Amy's wedding,  getting pampered and eating Mexican food, of course.

Delicious mexican food at La Hacienda.

John also stopped by a work event CFT hosted this week and we took a cute photo together. Thought I'd share. :)

And the wonderful Relationships Team with whom I work with at CFT!

And in some of the most exciting news of all, David and Kathleen welcomed a new dog into their family! Their next door neighbor rescued him from rural Waco and after a week of no one claiming him, David and Kathleen adopted this sweet face. Welcome to the family, Jimmy! Or Ranger?! I think it's still undecided. And Rosie will be excited to have a new friend!

Girls Weekend and Lisa's shower!

Two weekends ago two of my besties, Brianna, all the way from Cali and Lisa, representing Waco came into Dallas. After some quality hang out time Friday night and Saturday, Bri and I took the opportunity to throw  Lisa, 5 1/2 months preggers, her first baby shower!

Hostesses

Bundtini's in pumpkin spice--Lisa's fave.

Lots of presents for Ella Grace Wilkinson.

(Patty and Katie)
We played this extremely difficult baby shower game and then wrote little prayers for Lisa's baby which she can keep and read forever.

Proud Momma to be.

Me, Brianna and Lisa. And Ella Grace Wilkinson. :)

Such a fun weekend and wonderful time spent catching up with friends!
Can't wait for Ella's arrival in March!

Biscuit

Our family said good bye to its most loving, loyal, and sweetest member today.

Precious Biscuit was with us for every moment and milestone of the last 13 years.

She never said no to a good belly scratch.

Wore her snuggy during the cold winter months.

Was the first dog that John ever loved and 75% of the reason why we got Rosie.

Taught Rosie how to shred paper, take naps, lounge in the sun and beg for food.

Always wagged her tail when you called her name.

Loved every member of our family in her own unique way.

We love and miss you dearly.
