Happy Birthday, Amanda!

Last night Amanda and I drove to Arlington to meet Gayle and celebrated Amanda's birthday!

One of our favorite places to meet (which sits in between Dallas and Fort Worth) is Piranha Sushi. It's quite delicious. I had the Latino Roll, complete with jalapenos.

We rounded out the meal with some Nothing Bundt Cakes bundtletts. They were just as delicious and we devoured them before I was even able to take a picture.

Nonetheless, Happy Birthday Amanda! So glad to have such a good friend like you in Dallas!

Cassie's wedding

Last weekend John and I drove down to Austin for Cassie and Tim's wedding. The ceremony was at Smith Chapel at Riverbend Church and the reception was at Thurmond's Mansion, close to the famous Salt Lick and in the heart of Cassie's favorite place, the Texas Hill Country. Cassie was gorgeous, the wedding was true hill country style and we loved getting to see some of our close friends!

We picked up Court and Rett in Waco on the way down.

Us.

Weren't we matchy?!

These boys have been to too many weddings together.

(Callie's Dad, David, Rett, Gavin, Josh, Evan and John)

There's they are!

Me and Court with the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. Tim Carter! (Cassie is now Cassie Carter. Isn't that fun to say and super Texas-y?)

Loved getting to see Callie and Emily!

Next up: The Page-West wedding in Colorado Springs this October!

Callie and Cassie were close friends at Baylor. Evan and Tim knew each other well from high school. Callie and Evan got to talking one night and thought Tim and Cassie should meet. They coordinated a dinner in Dallas with the four of them and the rest is history. They were honored as the "matchmakers" for the evening and got these snazzy hats.

More Baylor friends!

It was a short trip to Austin but we had a great time and really enjoyed getting to catch up with our friends!

Two Years!

It's hard to believe it's been two long years since John and I tied the knot.

When we got married we still had another year of grad school, lived in Waco and didn't have Rosie. Two years later we're both gainfully employed, living in Dallas and have a slight obsession with this Yorkie we found in the paper.

We celebrated two years by spending a couple of nights at the Gaylord Resort in Grapevine. We both took Friday off, got to the hotel early and spent a ridiculous amount of time by the pool.

We were welcomed with champagne and cake balls!

View from our room

Friday night we sat at a restaurant overlooking Lake Grapevine, ordered lots of appetizers and drinks and watched fireworks.

After more pool time Saturday, we got all gussied up in and ate a good dinner at Truluck's in Southlake.

Complimentary dessert before(ish.)

Complimentary dessert after.

I absolutely love being married to and sharing life with John. I couldn't ask for a better husband or friend and I'm pumped for all that our third year brings!
