Happy Favorite Day, Kathleen!

Sunday was Kathleen's (my lovely mother-in-law) favorite day of the year--the day after the first day of spring. It's officially the first day that there's more daylight than darkness. It also signifies to Kathleen, a 6th grade reading teacher, that summer is imminent and she'll be able to enjoy a well deserved break soon.

(We saw bluebonnets beginning to bloom on our drive this past weekend!)

You may ask, "Why on earth do I know Kathleen's favorite day of the year and why am I posting about it?"

Well, it's a neat Hardage family tradition that I've had the joy to begin celebrating as the newest member of the clan. A few years ago John's sister, Rebekah, declared her favorite day (to be unveiled at a later time) and the family decided to celebrate each respective member's favorite day of the year through a small gift, dinner or other special occasion. We'll be meeting Kathleen, David and Rebekah for dinner Tuesday night to celebrate!

Happy day after the first day of spring, Kathleen!
