Bowl Bound

For the first time in 16 years, the Baylor Bears were eligible to play in a bowl game!

(Mostly in part to this due, Robert Griffin III)

And since John hadn't been to a Baylor Bowl game since he was eleven and I had never been, we decided we had to go. Special thanks to the Hardages who snuck some tickets into our Christmas stockings!

So we woke up early Wednesday morning and drove with John's friend Casey to Houston. We were hoping to get there in plenty of time to do some tailgating and meet up with friends and family.

But it was raining. And we were forced to take cover inside the stadium. However, we still got to mix and mingle with the over 50,000 Baylor fans who made their way to the stadium that day.

Flinging our green and gold.

So intense.

Contrary to what you see in this picture, the Bears didn't show up that day.

We looked miserable and made it easy for the Illinois Illini to run up the scoreboard quickly. Regardless of the loss, we were glad the Bears actually made it to a bowl game (we still take pride in the fact that Texas didn't) and that we were able to spend some extra time with family and friends.

Let's hope for another bowl bid for Baylor in 2011!
