Kitchen Creation

Pioneer Woman (found here) is one of my favorite bloggers particularly because she posts some incredible recipes and makes cooking look effortless. She's also got some great stories and you should check out her blog just to learn more about her. I've made her mushroom soup, soul sweet taters, stuffed mushroomscreamy cheese grits with chilis and more.

From the day I started reading PW (thanks to Courtney for introducing me to her) I've ALWAYS wanted to make her signature recipe, cinnamon rolls. But, it looked so time consuming and intimidating. I'd never used yeast in a recipe or used my rolling pin. It didn't involve any easy steps. And the only cinnamon rolls I've known come from a can.

After John gave me Pioneer Woman Cooks, her recently released cookbook, for Christmas and the cinnamon rolls were featured again, I decided it was time to get rolling. And when's a better time to attempt cinnamon rolls than a cold Sunday afternoon?

Check it out. Yeast and rolling pin. Booya.

Making a case for a large kitchen someday.

6 cups of butter. Just Kidding. Almost.

Final product with a delicious maple icing.

All in all, PW's cinnamon rolls were amazing and worth every minute in the kitchen. And her recipe makes enough to feed an army so we have cinnamon rolls in the reserves for the next forseeable future for any guests who come visit!
