Melissa's Favorite Day

As you may know, the Hardage family has a unique little tradition where we get the family together and celebrate someone's "favorite day."  Rebekah Hardage came up with this little holiday several years ago, and it has turned into a very real celebration for everyone.  Several previous posts have detailed this holiday's creation and various celebrations. 

Well, Melissa's favorite day celebration was on Monday, July 5.  The actual "favorite day" is July 1, because that's right in the middle of summer when peaches, tomatoes, cantaloupes, cherries, and most other fruits and vegetables are at their best. 

So, on Monday afternoon Melissa and I met up with the rest of the Hardage clan and went out to Waco's own Cameron Park for a little cookout. 

Yes, this includes Rosie. 

While the burgers were cooking we took some time to walk around and look at the newly renovated "Lover's Leap" area of Cameron Park.  The city has very recently installed new gazebos, grills, bathrooms and street lights.  It is all first class and offers a great view of the surrounding area. 

I was also able to get in a game of catch with Dad.  Who knows how many great hours we've enjoyed doing that.

My parents prepared a great meal.  We burgers cooked on the grill, along with homemade cole slaw and brownies topped with, appropriately, fresh fruit.  

We all had a greeat time and everyone made the occasion very special for Melissa!
